On a torrentially rainy day, the best kind of family – the family you choose – got together for a photo shoot. Dodie, Guy, Raylynn, Savita, and their family and friends gathered to get their photographs made. Luckily, the location at which we met had a lovely window and all of the clouds acted like a giant soft-box. Disaster being averted put all of the subjects in a good mood – they were happy to smile for the camera instead of being soaked while posing outside.
Aunica celebrated her 9th birthday with a tea party at the park – complete with all the fixings of a traditional high English tea! Her guests and their favorite dollies were met with real china, silverware, pots full of hot tea, and an assortment of scones, tea sandwiches, and sweet treats. After the tea service and cake, everyone made crafts and played at the park. A good time was had by all!
Over Labor Day Weekend, friends gathered in Seattle to visit Jon & Katie and their nearly-new bundle of joy, Greta – who was 4 months old. The youngest visitor was Felix, who was only 21 days older than Greta! Felix’s older brother, Arlo was also along, and everyone spent time hanging out and reading lots of good books, and generally cuddling with the kids. The babies also spent plenty of time napping. It was great to meet Greta and see Felix!
I met up with the Todd children in Northern California, near the tiny town of Pescadero to make these photographs. Finnick just turned 1, Dimitri was turning 4, Sidda was 7, and Aunica was about to be 9. All the kids enjoyed the beautiful weather and awesome props on the farm outside of town – lots of room to run around in between shots, and plenty of things to inspect. Here’s to enjoying the last days of summer in fine style!
Cousins! I had a great time playing with all of my cousins growing up, and Sam and Iris will certainly love growing up with their cousin Abi. For now, Abi is small, and needs lots of naps, so she conked out before the fun even began. The bigger kids enjoyed checking out the creek while running in opposite directions and spending time with family while Abi snoozed.
